upgrade my pentax with older lenses or change all together?

Ok that title probably did not make sense, but here is my question. I have a Pentax ist d and 2 lenses...tamron 18-200 lense and a pentax 18-55. My question is are those lenses going to work well with a K5? Both lenses are 19+ years old but still in good condition. Are lenses today better than 20 years ago. Ask any questions if needed to better answer my question. thanks

Those lenses will function well on a K5, but their image quality is lower most fixed focal length lenses. I recommend adding a cheap Pentax M 50mm 1.7 lens to your setup, if you're ok with manual focusing. The bokeh, sharpness and fun you can have with a 50mm lens is unmatched. 50$ should get you a decent copy.
