    Went looking for a suitable target yesterday in my local town (Reading, UK).....found this chap hanging out not far from the centre. Completely relaxed, despite the presence of two footpaths, traffic noise etc. They're really timid out in the countryside.

    Thanks...was trying out my new monopod, attached to the G80/G85....100-400mm lens.

    Nice GBH portrait. One of the better ones I have seen in a long time - great detail.

    Ah, right. Yes, a Grey Heron....our only common one, though the Little Egret can be seen round here on occasion.

    Didn't notice its address - sorry about that. Regardless, it is still one of the best portraits of this kind of a heron I have seen for the detail.
