I have a family portrait to take soon. It's of 10 adults. Two of them are elderly so I don't want them to sit on the ground. It's just plain grass at the place I'm shooting at. My question is: Is it unprofessional to use studio chairs outdoors? I plan to cover most of it with another person. I also would like to use wooden stools. I've seen that before and it doesn't look horrible. But I haven't ever seen studio chairs.

stools would look nice. especially wooden ones. I'd say just pick something that goes along with the theme or feeling you are trying to convey. for example, stainless steel or chrome probably would be a bad idea.

There's a post somewhere in this forum by inTempus that's an awesome landscape with a chick in the foreground on a wood kitchen chair. Worked really well.

Edit: here's the thread.

Unless they are outdoor type chairs, they would look pretty out of place in the middle of a lawn. Same with stools. Get a garden style bench.
