I got off my ass and worked on these photos, I took the trip as a chance to get back into my more artistic work by doing the opposite of the usual dark stuff I do. This is a trip that I took with my GF of over 2 years, her dad, and soon to be new step mom (he purposed on the trip). it was an all inclusive trip (yay free food and liquor!)
Leaving St Louis to Chicago
plane was empty so I took advantage and shot a few random images
landing in miami, after that it was too dark to really shoot the flight to st thomas
my and the gf's room at the resort.. kinda cozy all i could get on the tv was the history channel learned all sorts of good things.
we couldnt sleep so we walked down the beach at 1am to see the stars
got in another long exposure.
the view during breakfast
part of the beach
little buddy by the pool (which I discovered was saltwater... i hate saltwater)
shopping in downtown st thomas, where I scored Cuban cigars (brought 4 home)
so much color! I shot this while enjoying my red stripe.. i was dying for a beer!
a capt mango as the greenhouse before getting lunch.. best place we ate at.
I usually dont shoot sappy sunsets, but this was such an amazing site
first time to wear shorts in years
our ferry to the british islands.
home for the next 5 days!
I looked down and said "damn we're in shallow water" turns out that is 45ft down.
did a lot of napping, almost as much as snorkeling, drinking and eating
decided to pull out the strobe and get some shots of my girl (love her to death!)
more of the blue water... it was just amazing!
all dress up for dinner on a island, food was ok... this meal for two was $80.. beat the other dinner I paid for 4 and it was $220 at the worst place in the world.
shot this while waiting for our table and drinking bushwackers
only prison in the BVI... atleast it has a nice view
just amazing!
no one live on this island, it was like it was all our own.
another shot of the boat... it was rare for me to risk taking the camera out to the water.
there were tons of things I wish I could of photograph but never was worth risking ruining a dslr
now a few more pretty shots...
I some how managed to get this shot of her dad right after he purposed (they are hugging)
inside the boat.. tight squeeze
the gang
everyone else, the capt and first mate on the left
you can tell when im loaded....
you get a chance to steer too!
few more photos here...
