I'm in Vegas this week for work and was wondering if there was anything interesting around that I could go photograph in the evenings?

Last night I walked the strip with my tripod and got some pictures of the hotels, so I've got my fill of that.

The Hoover Dam and Springs Reserve both close at 5. Does anyone have some ideas of something else to do that I could get some nice images from?

I just don't care for gambling and its doubtful I will go to a show alone, so I was looking for something else to occupy my evenings.

Try and get a night shot of the Bellagio fountain from the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris Las Vegas. I was going to do that when I was down there but they had it closed due to weather.

I wondered if they would allow a tripod up there actually. By the time I made my way down the strip and back, my feet were killing me and I was sick and tired of all the escort flyer people.

Check out Freemont st (the real Vegas?). Outstanding opportunities down there. If you have a car the possibilities in the surrounding desert are limitless.

Take the short drive to redrock canyon, theres a scenic driving tour where you go at your own pace and its pretty long with multiple stops. Im sure theres some amazing things to shoot there or atleast near it

I do have a car and I found a magazine at the hotel that listed some places; one being the Redrock Canyon. It is open till 8, and if I leave here from work on time; maybe I can luck out into some dessert sunset pictures.

I'll see what I can find out about Freemont street too.

There is a neon light graveyard that I wanted to check out that a model told me about from Vegas that shot with me while she was in TX, but they are closed until Summer :(

People don't get how I can be bored, but when you are alone working in a party town (I can party with the best of them, but I have to go to work!), especially one where everyone is staring into monitors even at the bar, it really sucks! I'm not staying on strip either, so it takes me a good 30 min to get down there and deal with parking.

Anyway, thanks again :) If I'm out taking pictures, I usually prefer to be alone; so it all works out that way!

The only place I have traveled to for work that was worse? Hawaii! LOL
Honeymooners everywhere and poor little me by myself! LOL too bad I didn't take photos then, I would of been just fine by myself.

I went to Red Rock Canyon this afternoon. It was really beautiful and so nice to get out of the city. I can't wait to get home to process the images.
Shadows started falling over the mountains as the sun was setting, but I for sure got some nice images before that.

    Thanks again for the recommendation!

Downtown(Freemont st.) gave me a headache. I really hated that stupid light show with the music blaring. Geez, I went there to see old Vegas not this neon goat excrement.
Go up to Stratosphere tower, take shots from there. Mostly, I was underwhelmed with the neon in Vegas at night.
