Just blew my photofinishing gift certificates on a cheap digital point and shoot. Figured it's a good way to avoid wasting expensive film and processing on quick snapshots and stuff, which I tend to take a lot of. I'm enjoying vacation in rainy & sunny victoria BC, which beats freezing and dry Calgary, so here's a shot of a nice rainy winter evening at the coffee shop. I fixed the colors in gimp to remove an annoying yellow cast from the lamps.

No, that's not me in the chair.

So you mean to say that it is about time for everyone to gradually go digital?
If this is the outcome, then I can only agree.
What does "gimp" mean?
I like how it helped to bring out THESE colours instead of more yellowish ones!
But what is it?

GIMP is a photo editor for those who use Linux OS.

I like this shot, walter. The colors are really cool, the silouhette adds to the pic... yeah, i like it!

Gimp is a free photo editor. It can do pretty much anything photoshop can do, although photoshop has a user interface about 1000x better. Still, gimp is free, and once you learn the keyboard shortcuts it's pretty easy to forgive the bad mouse UI.

Also, it's not just for linux.. Also Mac OS X, windows, maybe BSD, others.

Thanks for the comments :)
