the black and white conversion was done using the blue and green channels and then setting the blending mode to darken.

I think the whites of the eyes are a bit too white... they need to be, for lack of a better term, 'put back in her head'.

I agree with rufus5150 about the whites of her eyes. But in my personal opinion, I think the hair is too dark and blends in too much with the background. There needs to be a little more highlight, I guess you could say, put back to draw a nice even balance between the background and the girl so she doesn't get lost. You know?

I think it's a cute kid.. but the lighting is just not good. Makes for snapshot quality.

thanks for the feedback guys. the background was chairs and such and i didnt like it so i got rid of them.
am i wrong in assuming that since the background is the only thing that was discussed, that the conversion looks halfway decent?
