Video Editing Software

I'm looking for something cheap (actually, free) that will do some video editing. I have the Windows software, and the Sonic, but they don't do what I want them to; let me put pictures over video. Or maybe I'm just not using what I have correctly. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hey CMan, I don't know of any good cheap video editors. It's kinda like a good cheap lens, very hard to find.

Actually, I'm really surprised Gimp hasn't come out with one.
