Video light...

Hello everyone,

I just bought this kit for small scenes, I will shoot few music videos with my friend in the next few months:

I know it is not much, but for us beginners it will be enough I hope, next to home made ring light we made at our garage, and here are the results:



Now we want to try something bigger, 5 people on stage, or maybe in some club, or some old warehouse, playing and singing playbacks, hi key, low key, or at least something like this:



I know I need at least 2kw for hi key for the background, I am wondering could cheap working lights with some diffusers in front of them do the trick?
And what about main lights for the whole scene, can we make some big diffusers and put two more working lights, all that from the top at 45 degrees angle?

Could you please suggest how to build some nice but cheap light setup for bigger scenes?

Nice video....I liked the top one, did not watch the second one.

SURE, you can use work lights, etc.. You'll likely want some kind of diffusion material. Roscoe, the USA based gelatin filter and lighting supply maker has a number of diffusion materials.

You can also make "scrims", from PVC pipes and various materials, to create larger light sources. Look up "DIY scrims".
