hello,

I was wondering if someone could give me step by step of the process for adding a slight vignetting to a photo.

thanks

In photoshop,

Filer>Distort>Lens Correction

What software?

Lets assume CS2.......

Open Image
Filter > Distort > Lens Correction
Move the vignette slider.

Another is to

Open Image
Press Ctrl J to copy the layer.

Select the top layer (background copy)
Draw the shape of the vignette using the eliptical marquee tool

Go to Select>ModifyFeather and select an appropriate value (higher number for larger images)

Press the delete key and then Ctrl D to deselect the selection.

Change the blending mode to Multiply and reduce the opacity to suit. If the feather isn't strong enough press Ctrl+Alt+Z to trace steps back and feather more before deleting the centre part of the background copy layer.
