Hi all!

If using a tripod, where everything is lock-down tight then VR is non-issue am I correct???

If so turning VR option off would increase the sharpness & overall quality of the capture/shot am I correct???

Thanks for your your prompt replies!...

That is correct. You should switch off the VR any time the camera is mounted on a tripod.

Thank you both for you input/assistance & prompt response. I now know & understand not to use VR with the tripod.

I only used the Nikon 200 - 500 f/5.6 a handful of times maybe 3/4 times since I got it back in early December & out of that I may have used the VR 2/3 times (albeit always on the tripod).

Now according to the manual & I quote "Vibration reduction can reduce blur when the camera is mounted on a tripod. OFF may however produce better results in some cases depending on the type of tripod & shooting conditions." However on a monopod they recommend it both "Normal" & "Sport."

I still won't use VR ever again on the tripod!!!

So I guess no damage was done.

Thanks Again!!!
