First trip to Bosque del Apache, first chance to use a new lens, 70 - 300 is. Sandhill crane and snow goose

The sandhill crane is stunning. I spent 2 days in a tent trying to catch that shot while they migrated through this year and never managed one that nice! great job!

Thanks. We were very fortunate. As we were driving in, we saw about a half dozen cars, several tripods, and people bundled up against the cold next to a pond. We happened to arrive at the morning fly out. We got several shots but this was one of my favorites.
