Hey guys,

I bought a Pelican case today and brought out an old Sony mock SLR kayaking. As it turns out, the case only works if you keep the camera inside. I don't want to find this out again with my Pentax, so I'm looking for a waterproof case. I want something as cheap as possible for good security. Most use will be at the surface, but I expect to snorkel a bit with it as well.

The DiCAPac caught my eye. For under $150, it looks like it does what it needs to do. Any thoughts? Other suggestions more than welcome!

EwaMarine makes a plastic baggie type enclosure - not sure for Pentax as they aren't terribly popular for underwater work but check BH's site as they usually carry a good selection.

Personally, I wouldn't use something like this even for snorkelling, but for the boat and kayaking etc they should be fine. And people DO use them for snorkelling - just be aware that the controls can be a bit harder to access and that you do need to be very careful each time checking the seal.

Oh, and get flood insurance - I use DEPP.
