Waterproof Nikon

So, I am looking for something waterproof for an upcoming Galapagos trip. Looking to follow snorkelling, not diving.

Have a p600 currently and like the zoom and versatility and the handling. Testing cameras todsh, I found the little pocket point and shoots difficult to handle. The camera I like, the AW1 has a huge price tag. Just wondered what people thought?

Find a used or refurbished Nikon J1/J2 for ~$150 (w/10-30mm lens).. Then pick up the WP-N1 Waterproof housing for $97 (Nikon WP-N1 Waterproof Housing for Nikon 1 J1 J2 Digital 3689

Then you'll have a 40M (131') depth rated setup that's better then any point-n-shoot for ~$250.
