Have a look at my website: www.sagephotoworld.com.

1. What do you think of the site - is it clearly laid out and welcoming?
2. What do you think of the services offered?
3. What do you think of the prices?

I have to be honest when giving advice to someone starting out with a new business. If you "specialize" in something you have to come across as special! You list on your site that you specialize in everything which is really not specialzing at all.

If you were going through the phone book, for instance looking for a great divorce attorney, you would probably choose an attorney that specializes in only divorces. That would send a signal to you that this attorney handles lot's of divorces and would do an excellent job. You probably wouldn't choose an attorney that "specializes" in Bankruptcy, Civil Rights, Criminal Law, Divorce, Insurance, and Health Care.

I think you still may need to decide what type of photographer you want to be. Do you want to do portratis and weddings or go commercial. Then you can "Specialze!"

I'm trying to appeal to all markets. It's a case of getting money in before I can afford to specialise in one particular aspect. Ideally I'd go commercial as I don't think there's so much competition there from newbies.

as a consumer, I wouldn't pick you for doing my kids photos, or a wedding or anything because I really don't know what you do well. The white background really does look like you are aiming for commercial work and that would stick out to me.

That said, if you really want to do everything, you should put links at the top to each area to pages that talk about why you are good at that, show examples and talk about prices.

I don't think the photos at the top look that good in that resolution, it really doesn't show you off. Also the portfolio, I imagine you are going to add to it. But if I wanted to hire you for family portraits, I wouldn't really want to scan through photos of the white house.

The prices are good if you really give out high res photos, although I don't know why you would. No one will buy photos from you. If you are new to the business and aren't giving away your work in the CD, I think the prices are a bit high.
