I know I am not the only one who gets into weird positions to take a picture. I have gotten down on the sidewalk with people walking by, stood in the street with cars coming to get a better shot, walked up to all sorts of wild critters, leaned out car windows and for that matter any window around would do... the people walking past must think I am just crazy.

BUT I know I am not the only one. What weird situation have you gotten into trying to get a shot?

    Ever the perve

I can see I'm gonna get into lots of weird positions in future sessions ....last Saturday night was my first 'shoot' of the city and I got down on the pavement amongst city shoppers feet ( they're a dangerous mob when they're in hunt of BARGAINS  ) , stood on tramtracks in the middle of the street with approaching , dinging tram and just garden variety , 'lying on city benches and shootin churches upside down and having passers-by think you're just a sleeping , drunk bum ' ( it was dark so they're forgiven ) :D .....

I heard a lot of photographers get killed due to those weid positions to get their shot. They don't realize when they're about to step off a cliff or something ;)

I've spent a lot of time laying in front of buildings, in the middle of streets and sidewalks. I try not to do it in places that will get me hurt or killed. I finally got one of those angle finders for my 10D so I don't have to have my face in the dirt. Once, I stood up to my thighs in a slimey lake to get an engagement shot once. Really gross!!!

I can relate. When I was in New Hampshire during fall foliage season, I was at Lower Falls on the Kancangamus Pass. There were about 100 people walking all over the falls, and I knew there was never going to be a time that day that the falls would be free of people, so I looked for something else to photograph.

I found a puddle that reflected the foliage, but you couldn't see the reflection unless you were inches from the ground. Everyone walking by gave me a funny look since a great waterfall was there, but I was taking a picture of a puddle.

That's why I love waist level finders; I can shoot from my knees and hardly have to bend over.

I have been seen laying down on my stomach with my face planted on the ground in the city. I got some weird looks with my camera an inch away from a park bench in the middle of the night. Im always climbing up on something or laying down on something.

That is great and you know all of those people, if they saw your photos would ask "how did you get that great shot?"

Anyone can take a photo but it takes a photographer to find a picture!!

I did some classy nudes (not porn) at a public access to the river one time. My friend/model was game for it. We did it on a Wednesday morning about 9 am the first week of April. The water was freezing, but we were pretty sure nobody else would be out there.

I also had to crawl out and lay on a half sunken boat dock one time and then manage to crawl back. I'm a very larg woman so it was quite funny.

I'm sure I've done other odd things, but those are the ones that strike me right now.
