What %age of your shots are GOOD shots

There is only one sure way to decide if what you see with your eye will make a good photograph....release the shutter and record the scene.

Not everything you shoot will work, but shooting just for the sake of shooting is a waste too.

Think about what you are wanting to get out of a scene. Think about the lighting and how you are going to compose the photo. Would it be better to return at a time of day or time of year when the light will be from a different direction?
 
I'm glad to have found this thread...it's something I've been wondering myself for awhile now. Many of the numbers here are what I'm used to seeing too, so now I don't feel as bad LOL.

I'm probably in the 5-10% range. Out of 100 shots, I'll usually only spend time with PP on a handful of them, mostly just to upload to Flickr and Facebook. Of those, there might only be 1 or 2 that I really like. I've only ever printed and framed one photo that I've taken.
 
Even the photos I don't take are good.
