Goofing around with little Minolta DiMage Z6 at my parents house today and caught this Gold Finch. Shot from about 10 feet away 1/125 second at f/2.8.

Heya "Doc Wiseman", welcome to ThePhotoForum :D!!!

This is a nice photo of a Gold Finch. I even like the centred composition here. He looks quite inquisitive - did he fly away soon after or was he relatively tame?

Thanks for the comments. I caught him sitting all by himself in a lilac bush watching the other birds feeding. I zoomed in on him to get a better look when he turned toward me puffed up as if to say 'What are you lookin at?".
He stuck around until I got closer and lit up the flash.
