What Camera?

Hi everyone! Basically at the moment i dont have anything special camerawise. I have got a Canon digital ixus wireless but need something better. i am very new to photography so it is a good little camera to get me started, but for more advanced stuff i will need something better. it is not bad and i like it but i now am looking into getting an slr. completely clueless as to which one, and will do more research, but wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions? thanks alot

This is asked all the time.... The general consensus is to go to a camera store and hold the cameras and shoot with them. See which one you like.

Usually, for most people, it is between the Nikon D40 or the Canon Rebel XT/i.

Knowing how much you want to spend is a good thing too!

You can't go wrong with the D40 or D80.

You can't go wrong with any entry level DSLR or used prosumer DSLR.
