What could I do different?

I posted this in the casual forum. I guess I'm looking for something that could make it a better shot. I have a landscape version as well but I like the vertical allignment. I'll just post one for now.

The one thing I thought was that that if I used a warm card to white balance at about 10000k and give the shot a warmer look.

I don't think I'd change much at all. I think the 'cold' look you talked about fixing is highly appropriate for this shot.

The horizon is tilted minutely, but that's about all i can think of.

Firstly I really like the shot, the patterns in the foreground work really well.

One thing you could of tried is to take this while on your belly to get even more detail into the foreground.

I would say that you are on the right track, but there is a lot of information here. Maybe concentrate on the ice chunks and reflection of the water. Try opening the exposure as well.
