Hey guys, got a question for ya. I have an eBay business selling guitars. Right now I take all my photos outside, and I have to deal with reflections, sunlight angles, and all kinds of other distractions. A buddy of mine who is into photography suggested I buy a couple of cheap softboxes and a backdrop, and set up a simple studio inside. I'm using a Canon S410 PaS camera, but I'm considering upgrading to a Canon 350D Rebel XT, since I've wanted to get into photography anyway, and this is a good excuse
I assume I would set the guitar up on its stand in front of the backdrop, but where would I place the softboxes? Perhaps at 45 degree angles to the guitar, 6 or 7 feet away? I'm looking for something that will let me take photos of this quality:

What is the cheapest and most effective way to setup a simple studio like this? Also, since I'm very new to photography, exactly what will I need? Do you put strobes in the softboxes and just leave them on?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
