What do you think of this photo i took?

I am no pro...photography is just my hobby..but just wondering what you think? Thanks

Interesting idea, however a couple of issues I see: (1) It's too tightly cropped; I would prefer to see all of the child's head and the binoculars. There's a reason that 'portrait' aspect is called that. (2) The bright and dark vertical background, is just way too confusing. (3) Too much contrast, and too dark. A little work with levels/curves and a slight reduction in contrast will IMO, improve this image.

Yeah Agree there are a lot of black parts to and tightly cropped

I don't mind the starkness of the background. The B&W with loss of detail works well enough because the kid and binoculars are well defined.

However, the framing is a miss.

A bit of leading space, open space in the direction where your subject is facing, would help a lot. Keep at it!
