    Hi,

I'm a total newbie, but I am really starting to love photography!! I wanted some help picking out gear - I have examples of the type of pictures I would like to take below. I stumbled upon it on facebook - it was a friends of a friend of a friend lol!!!

I'm certain it's not 1000 dollar equipment. Might be film. However, I want to go the digital route and just wanted to know what kind of DSLR/lens could get me photos like these. I currently have an olympus e-410 that I use an old manual OM 50mm prime lens, but they look like ordinary pictures:(
Do you have to post-edit alot of work on photoshop?

    Most likely post processing.

You can do this on your olympus, it just needs post work.

Looks like film shots to me. The black lines on the 2nd and 3rd shots appear to be the frame edge.

No special equipment used here. Any decent camera will capture the pics (P&S or DSLR). And yes 2 and 3 are scans of film. Didn't crop out the last little bit of film edge.

So, did you get permission to use these?

Using someone else's photos without permission is usually considered -bad form. ;)
