Hi,

I have a Canon 300D and an old Simga 70-300mm lens that is on the way out. I would like to replace it with a similar lense but due to money matters I will be looking in the low price range bracket and most probably buy the same (but newer version) of my lense. I have found 2 by Sigma first is the

a) 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO MACRO SUPER 2 priced about £219.99

b) 70-300mm f4-5.6 DL MACRO SUPER 2 priced about £169.99

The full spec of these lenses are on the Sigma website. I couldnt do a link to each lense, sorry.

What I would like to know is what exactly is the difference. Reading through their respective specs, they both appear to be the same except for the 'APO' tag which isnt explained very much and therefore gives me the impression that there is not a lot of dfference if any. All advice greatly appreciated, including alternative lense options.

Daniel,

Thanks for the reply. Is the APO (Apochromatic glass ) something you think should be given some serious consideration? Other than that the specifications are exactly the same. I am a little confused.

Voodoocat,

Cheers & thanks for the reply. I will probably go for the APO then.
