what lens?

    i own a nikon d3000 and im looking to get a new lens. i love taking pictures of cars but i don't really know what kinda lens to get. Im not really looking for zoom more for wideangle.

    please give me some feedback.

    Depending upon your budget, I think you would really get a lot of use out of the 35MM F/1.8 lens. Another option would be a wide angle lens like you mention. I have been looking into them myself and have narrowed my choice down to either a Nikon 12-24 (Used) or a Tokina 12-20. Make sure you get the updated version (II) of the Tokina lens, so that it will autofocus with your D3000.

    Fast lens never hurt! I would get a 50 mm f/1.4. Sometime you want very fast shutter speed on shutter speed so there is barely any time for the light to come in. Plus they work great on potraits too. If all you are taking is a car in the middle of the day that is not moving, the lens that comes with your camera kit will work just fine.

    Sorry to thread jack but I like to take pictures of car too is, what do you guys think about a 10-20 sigma lens?
