    Hi all -

New to Photography ... Buying my first SLR .. Have decided to get an OLYMPUS E500 (comes with 2 lenses - 14-55mm and 45-150mm).. Does anyone have one of these or can someone offer an opinion before I part with my cash - $AUS1200

    Thanks

im not to sure about olympus but my first camera was a Nikon N2000 which is a great camera that can be found with a lens on ebay for 50-75 bucks. Really easy to use and great quality pictures.

Canon and Nikon are pretty expensive here ... The equivelent Canon would cost me upwards of $AUS1500 ... Nikon - Well Im not going there - Not for a beginner....

Only reason why Im leaning towards the Olympus is I currently have a Olympus C-770 compact. It takes pretty good photos but im starting to find it doesnt meet my needs ... Its only a 4mp with a 10x optical zoom. Starting to get into the nature / landscape photos and feel i need something better to get the quality I want...
