aw, poor thing. i feel sorry for her

the space around her conveys the feeling of her being lost and alone.
really nice tones too, i like this photo

I agree with JohnMF nice tones, but would have applied the rule of 'thirds'
    Possibly vertically, definitely horizontally

lov this one!! I think it's cool, taking pics of children crying are great when you can show them to the child years later.. all in the moment!! b+w works great here!!

I think the 3rds concept is applied perfectly myself, hor and vert. Am i missing something?

The subject is occupying half the picture horizontally

I think it would look better with more empty space to the right of the photo, creating a greater sense of being lost

Strong photo!!! Kid photos seem so much stronger when they are not being cute. I think the photo is well composed. I get the feeling of abandoment and "where's my mommy?". Good job on the exposure. Maybe kick in some contrast to add to the starkness and confusion.

i think this is a great capture! The picture seems to be gray rather then black and white (on my monitor).

I would play with contrast in photoshop a bit to give it more "spike"

As for the crop, with the title and the emotion the picture brings, I would love to see more vastness (is that a word?) around the child, but this may not have been possible.

    Great capture!
