Hi, I was looking at some landscape shots I did, and realised the horizon is never quite level.

So, I get the brilliant idea of buying a small level tube and gluing it to my camera.

Luckily, it wasn't an original idea at all, and someone else was smart enough to design ones that slide into your hotshoe.

Now I have a choice, between double tubular, or bullseye type levels.

Anyone got a preference,...and if so...why?

I'd say go for the double tubular. This will give you more feedback on each direction of alignment rather than both at the same time. You may want this extra feedback control if you want to point your camera slightly up or down to get your composition right.

Great point. It's usually desirable to be level in the horizontal plane (left-right) but it's not really necessary to be vertically level (up down).

Go for the double tube.

If you ever try to use a bullseye in portrait mode, you will definately understand why you should have choosen the double tube. :D
