Spend the money and get a decent set. $500 can probably get you a 2 200w/s monolight setup, maybe even a little less.

110W isn't close to being enough light.

800w is about right for studio work. Genesis makes a kit with a couple of 400W lights, stands, and a couple umbrellas that will barely work for about $650.

im just starting and im in school, i know that a good set of lights is expensive
but for starters this aint bad i dont think
