Which lens to travel with?

I'll be visiting India for over a month. I own a Canon T4i with the 17-55mm 2.8 lens. One of the best all around for crop sensor albeit large and heavy. I've been looking at the newly released 24mm pancake. Must lighter, smaller, and more discrete but just one focal length. Any ideas?

if it was me, I'd either stick with the 17-55mm or look for a fast 35mm for a crop sensor body. I walkaround with a 50mm "normal" lens when I want to go light.

Unless you travel India a lot I think you will regret not having some flexibility if you only take the pancake.
