Which one, NikonD5000, D40 or D90

d90 no doubt! has built-in motor which can save you when buying lenses with no motor.
  1. Most of the lenses Nikon now offers have a focus motor in them (AF-S) and Nikon probably won't be introducing any new lenses that don't (AF).
  2. Most of the lenses that don't have a focus motor (AF) have a less expensive AF-S version (with a focus motor) available for the average consumer.
  3. Most of the top pro lenses are also all AF-S, even though all the pro cameras have a focus motor in them.
  4. If you put an AF-S lens on a Nikon bodythat has a focus motor in it, the camera uses the in-the-lens focus motor because there is no way to connect the in-the-body focus motor to the focus mechanism in the lens.

Yeah, the focus motor is nice, but in all honesty, that is one of the lesser reasons to get the D90...there are many other things that I think are more important upgrades on the D90 than that.
