Who knew?

We we're talking about this on another forum and it was a toss up between Arizona and Canada as to who was smoking what when these were passed. Canada got more attention because of the "It is illegal for clear or non-dark sodas to contain caffeine" law but I laid down a monster and won with a law I'm not even going to post here. The last listed state law here

This was my favorite though:

Canada: It is illegal to pretend to practice witchcraft

In the great state of New Hampshire:

You cannot sell the clothes you are wearing to pay off a gambling debt.
(Well of course not, that would immediately lead in indecent exposure  )

Any cattle that crosses state roads must be fitted with a device to gather its feces.
(Nope, not a job I want!)

And in my former home of Minnesota:
A person may not cross state lines with a duck atop his head.

(I always wanted to do that, just to break the law)

This is from a few years ago and might have changed.

In New Jersey:

It's illegal to have an unregistered car on your property.

A car cannot be registered unless it passes inspection.

Not terribly funny but shows how stupid laws get passed. The implications of these two laws are apparent when you consider the hobby of restoring vintage cars. A car that is being rebuilt obviously won't pass inspection and thus is automatically illegal.

From my great state of Louisiana

It illegal for a woman to drive a car unless her husband is waving a flag in front of it.

also from Louisiana, specifically Sulphur.

Drive-thru liquor stores are outlawed.

i think the stranger thing about this law is that, they are perfectly legal everywhere else.

A fellow I know who was attending university in North Carolina said there was a law in that state making it illegal to make love to an animal <40 pounds in weight!

New Jersey:
In winter you can't start the car, run home, wait till its warm.
I actually read about this dude who got ticketed for this!

Can't do that in Minneapolis, either. Very cold state for that law :)
