Why do you shoot B&W photography?

B&W reduces the variables I must deal with in making a print. I can concentrate on composition, lighting and image tones without the added complication of color.
 
...because I'm taking a B&W photography class :p

But I really like the focus of the subject. Influential photographers? Well... i just finished writing an essay on Duane Michals a few minutes ago so I've got to say - I feel pretty influenced by him at the moment. He's amazing...his fearless approach, his unconventional formality, his perceptive message.... just amazing!
