Willow Springs Raceway

A couple shots from Redline Time Attack this past weekend. Willow Springs main track is 2.5 miles and if a car is powerful enough, can hit 200mph through the straights.

This is actually a drift car, but he's doing a little grip driving.

What's Time Attack? Is it some kind of solo run round a track?

What's Time Attack? Is it some kind of solo run round a track?

They're not really solo, there are around 10-15 cars on the track at a time, usually for a certain 'timed session' (say..30 minutes) passing is allowed, but instead of competing to see who gets to the finish line first, they compete for the best lap time. I think an actual race would be more exciting, but it's still fun to watch the cars going all out. I guess it's almost like F1 qualifying in a way...

Good panning.. That looks like a good spot on the track for photos where you took the middle 2 pics.

They were on the track at the same time, but the Yaris wasn't part of the event. Another thing about Time Attack, since it's not an actual "race" private groups can be on the track at the same time. I gotta say though, that Yaris was crazy quick around the track. It was keeping up with some of the big boys. Must have some crazy stuff under the tiny hood.
