    I found this wilted flower by the riverside. I really liked its texture and pale color. Critique and suggestions regarding the photos are, as always, more than welcome. For some strange reason, the forum keeps rotating pics 1 & 4, they're the right way in the original gallery. Please don't let this bring you down, it's only pictures turning.

    You captured the flower well, but the background is distracting with some blown highlights taking away from the flower itself.

    Thanks for the constructive feedback - I appreciate it.
    I'm not quite sure what I think about the blown highlights myself. I took a few shots from above the source of light (like pic 5) or with fill in flash (like pic 2). Those images have a more balanced distribution of light, but I still kinda like the nocturnal atmosphere that the blown highlights create on some of the images. However, I do admit that you have a very good point in saying that the highlights are distracting; eg. image #4 could really have benefited from some fill in flash.
