I started to use the Windows DVD maker, but I get this problem. The video I'm trying to burn is widescreen (blackbars at top and bottom). However, when I burn it - no matter whether I set it to 16:9 or 4:3, it cuts off the sides of the video to fit the 4:3 screen, rather than adding the black bars to the top and bottom as it should. I have tried encoding the file (mpeg2) as 4:3 and 16:9, and burning at 4:3 16:9 (many ruined DVD-R's), and can't figure it out.
If anyone, by chance, knows the answer--- feel free to share.
