You were super lucky to get that shot. Those pileated peckerwoods move fast. Too bad you couldn't get him with a super-long lens.
I believe the picture would benefit by cropping out most of the right side of the frame.
But, knowing how hard good wildlife shots can be, I would call that a good picture.

I watched this one for quite a while and probably took over 30 shots... he/she was pretty content with what they were doing so I was able to get fairly close.

I'll try and crop out that right side and see if that helps, thanks for the suggestion!
