I had to look him up. Guess what he's called? "Red headed woodpecker" I would just crop a bit to make him be bigger in the picture. I'd rather see more bird and less tree. I only have Red-bellied and Downy. The Pileated seem to want to live in my friends woods, not mine. I'd love to see this beautiful red head at my feeders.

He's a beaut! (albeit a bit 'soft' - perhaps because you were hurrying in case he flew away).

I like the idea of trying to crop it down a bit, but keep some of that background as it adds interest to the shot.

Agreed to the slight crop and the bird being soft. The focus seems to be tack sharp on the tree though. Woodpeckers can be tricky to capture. Great shot.

I agree with the other posters. Interesting shot, but I'd like to see more bird and less tree.
