Woohoo! Getting my first non-kit lens this evening!

Just have to toot my own horn here a bit, I'm pretty excited. I am going after work today to pick up the Nikkor 55-200 AF-S VR lens for my D40. I can't wait!

Congrats. I have to wait another week or so before getting mine. That was the next lense I was going to get as well. Should be getting my Circular polarizer tomorrow.

Congrats. I bought the same lens for my D40 and it is awesome. It takes really sharp pictures. I'm really happy about it.

Well, I got it! I've only got to play with it for a few minutes, but I am very impressed with it. The VR feature works AMAZINGLY well, far beyond what I was expecting. I was getting steady 200mm shots at 1/15" completely handheld and completely clear. Needless to say, I am happy!
