Working with models

Hey all, I may be doing a fashion shoot sometime this year. Nothing for sure yet but we're putting a bid in on it. Even if it doesn't happen, I would like to get better at working with people, posing, and positioning.

Is there an exercise or ways to improve with posing and talking to models? I see it on TV etc, and I have worked with people on some shoots, and I can give some direction, but some days I just feel like I have no idea what I want my subject to do. I definitely feel like it's my weak point.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
