    Hey gang!

This photo was taken outdoors on a overcast day using my Canon 40D. Would love to hear your comments.

    Thanks :D

    Not bad.

If you had a little more depth of field to get some sharpness in the two standing petals, it would look even better.

You're right! I thought about the same thing but maybe next time I'll get it perfect. Thanks for the comment! :D

I saw a framed print of an Iris just about like this 24" x 36" hanging in a hotel up in Galena . Good job

I would have preferred more DOF perhaps including the forward petal and the tall center area of the iris. Just seems soft overall.

    Nice colors.

I think that the fact that it is not completely in focus gives it more mystery. If it were "perfect", it would be just another picture of a flower. This, however, is art. It's "perfect" as is.

Thank you for the kind comments SLP! I know everyone will have different opinions about how this photo should have been taken, and I love that! I am very open to critiques because I always learn something from someone else's point of view. And yes, now that I look at the photo even more, I'm starting to like the fact that it's not completely in focus. :peacesign:
