INstead of my usual landscape, wildlife and sports shot I occasinoally slip in a shoot or two of people that are not just random walking by shots. It's tough with the wife's health to schedule anything for the last year or more, this set is from a shoot with twin seniors more than 4 years ago.

Jessica in the hay... softbox in front and higher that subject with reflectore for fill under the front of her just out of camera view.

Justin in the barn rafters. I was not too hot on this one, but both he and his mom loved it. Go figure. Bare bulb on flash from off on camera right on the stack of hay bales.

Both together outside with softbox off to camera left and a gold reflector filling in from the right. Printed as a 24x36 canvas wrap that made mom cry.

I like 2 and 3, especially 2.

The first one is kind of flat, lighting wise. And in the 3rd one his shirt seems a bit overexposed.

Cheers, Alin

Number 1 I'd crop tighter, number 2 I agree with you but if they like it, that's what counts. Number 3 stands out as a classic brother/sister portrait. :)

#3 I'd have said to crop tighter but then I noticed that you'd printed it as a canvas wrap so good call!

Now that I look back the actual print for the first one was cropped, turns out that was the file I worked from. For some reason posted on this thread it shows up a bit warmer than where I have it hosted.

And yep, I had to leave room on the edges of that third one for the wrap.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I pick up little things everyday that I keep in the back of my mind when shooting from comments by folks.

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it many times in the future, this forum has taught me most of what I know about photography, both from photos I've submitted for C&C and from reading other peoples' C&C.
