I don't think I have the patience

I put out a bunch of seed & nuts today because it is nice and sunny and snowy and I was hoping to get a feathered visitor to shoot, but nothing, not even a squirrel!

I've been watching for about 3 hours now.

How do you patient people do it? ;)

my little bird house has been out for a while... and the birds have become use to it being there and tend to come back more often... maybe leave the bread and nuts out more often untill birds decide to use it as a regular feeding area ;)

i have been strugling to get a picture of a white owl that lives in out trees but im epically failing to do so, i will get it sooner or later, ive been nest hunting to see if i can find its home.

dont be discouraged they will come to you sooner or later, just keep very still ;)

I know where there is a bunch of Canada Geese but it's too cold to go visit them, I'm hoping for some easy backyard action

I heard it helps to climb a tree and make owl hoots... Attracts them like crazy! Haha, I bet the neighbors would love that

I set up my suet feeders, platform feeder and bird bath close to each other in the front yard. I then watch and, in cold weather, shoot through the storm door. In warm weather I just open the storm door. I can watch TV and any movement out door catches my attention. Most of my photos at my misc. set at flickr were shot out my front door. Check my link.

I set up a few bird feeders about 15' away from my patio door and set up my camera and tripod inside the door. Then I sit back and goof around on line until the feeders get some action.

For ducks and geese I just drive around our local parks until I find a bunch then I stop and they come up begging for food. For swans I will generally feed the same ones so they like me enough to let me take pictures without growling at me.

Give it time! I've been known to sit in my backyard studio all afternoon. Of course, I have no life.

This is a photo from last season. I've changed it a little, but you can see my studio:
