    Hi-

I'm under 18, does anyone here know of any organizations that award art (and/or photography) grants to minors? If I want to continue my hobby into a profession I'll need some outside money at this point. (Especially with the current economy.

    Thanks,

    Phil,

I do not know. I am in the same boat as you. I am just 14, but would be really interested in something like this.

Check with your guidance counselor. The grants are out there. That is to say they were when I went to college. The Arts may have taken a major beating since then.

they are someone in the schools that help guide students toward a variety of things, including which school might offer them the best education. They also do testing and sometimes lend an ear for discussion

Uhh.. I think they do have guidance counsellors in Junior High, but those are more for "Joey beat up me yesterday. I am sad :(" or those that have difficulties learning. Rather then ones that are likely to guide you to certain occupations in secondary schools like in high school. Universities will have those as well, they are generally in whatever faculty that you are studying (but those are even more 'direct' in their areas of help - they direct you more for classes and scholarships directed toward your program so.. unless you are in arts you might not have access to that)
