    Well,
I think my local botanical garden is back in full-swing with flowers and critters. I love just working a 5 min. drive...I take my lunch break here sometimes.

    Roy, these are fantastic.

The colors in the 1st pic are stunning and bet it would look awesome as a 20x16 print on my wall. :)

Oh, what is the green critter in the 5th picture?

And, can you state the equipment you used?

    Thanks for posting them. :)

    Eric,

I would love to know if you do print and hang it ;-) Just click the download arrow bottom right: http://www.motleypixel.com/nature/index.htm?openfolder=Flowers/&openfile=zilker_5-12-08_01.jpg

I used a Canon 30D and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens. I used a 580EX Speedlite in manual with a milk-jug diffuser for all of these shots except the flies...the flies flew into my car just as I parked at the gardens and they sat right on my door ledge while I shot them under natural light.

Thanks for the comments...not sure of the ID on #5.

Roy, these really are wonderful pics. Such vibrant colours and crisp detail. Well done.
