Technically, using an image tag around the original URL is linking. Now saving the pic to your desktop then uploading it to TPF is against the rules. With a img tag, you can Link back to the original source. I think Keith was just a bit confused on how <img> tags work.

It's not a matter of how the < img > tag works. Per the TPF FAQ:

"You agree to only post images and/or other material to which you have exclusive copyright, or permission from the copyright holder..."

The 'site owners have indicated what they find acceptable with respect to the issue of posting of and/or linking to images for which the poster does not hold copyright.
