zoom bounce flash question

I just bought a used Quantaray QAF 6600 zoom bounce flash. The seller advertized that this flash could be used on both SLR and Digital SLR cameras. Can this flash be used on my Nikon D50 DSLR camera without damaging the camera. If so and I basically use all autofocus settings at this time, what film speed setting on the flash unit should I use for best results. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

According to this list, that flash has a low trigger voltage which should be safe for your camera.

To start with, I would suggest matching the ISO setting on the flash...to the ISO setting on the camera.

I don't know if that flash is compatible with your camera's E-TTL metering...so you may have to use the camera in Manual mode.
