Thanks for the reply! That was my thought also. I almost always have the Sigma 300 full zoom. The Sigma is a good lens but I hope to get more crisp shots with the Canon 400 mm. Okay, one vote for the prime lens!

Sounds interesting. A while back I bought two of those little lights that clip on the brim of a cap. Each has 5 LED lights. I just use rubber bands to secure them around my macro lens while mounted on tripod, one on top and one on bottom. Works great!
