I have a light tent. To obtain pure white background (#ffffff) I bottom light a piece of plexiglass (light underneath the subject). The chromatic abberations are high in this situation because the background is white and there is high contrast between the background and the subject...
No. I just use VR II / ISO 400. I heard 1/30sec is allowed with VR II on the 105mm lens (DX camera).I think I have to buy a ring flash because the D3100 camera doesn't perform well at ISO 800.
I need only f/16 but at acceptable shutter speed.
Both photo: ISO 100, Nikon D3100, Micro Nikkor 105mm. Cloudy day.

Did you notice the CA on the right side (the petal on the right side).
What do you think? Isn't...
I have chromatic abberation at all apertures in high contrast scene. Is this normal for that lens? I can remove the CA in Lightroom (f/8), but sometimes CA is so strong at f/2.8 that Lightroom is unable to remove it completely.
I took this photo at F/11 (as you can notice the CA is...
I bought a Micro Nikkor 105mm AF-S. The CA is quite high especially at f/2.8. Check out this picture (it is a crop). The sky was bright.
Is this normal? The CA is less noticable at f/11 or f/16.
I heard all Micro Nikkor 105mm AF-S have some CA. I'm not sure. I would be grateful for any...
Yes, but the bottom is two stops brighter than the side lights.
Do I need to use matrix metering? Because spot metering blows out any white area, or anything close to the background. Spot metering works well for non-white objects.
I have a light tent.
I have two lights on the bottom to achieve pure white (#ffffff) - The bottom light is stronger than left and right.
I took the meter reading using a gray card. It reads f/8 @ 1/40sec. So, I can take photos constantly on pure white background using 1/40sec. I'm using...
Yes, but I think it doesn't mean my 50mm lens worth half the price after 5 years. I use my lenses with the biggest care. I never clean the glass. I use UV filters all the time.
I'm wondering how much do I loose? $50 in 5 years?
I'm asking the question because I would like to buy more lenses in...
