I've been on a roll the past couple weeks woth imaging. This is the North American Nebula. Located 2200 light years from Earth, in the constellation Cygnus, this emission nebula gets its name from its resemblance to the North American continent.

Thanks! And yes, indeed! I am routinely impressed how it does. I also like how they release updates to the software at a great pace. It tells me they are constantly working on improving the performance of the software.
Thank you!
Last night turned out to be great conditions for imaging the night sky. Two nights in two weeks!
Here is my image of the Crescent Nebula, in the constellation Cygnus. Located 5000 light years from Earth, this nebula formed when a star ejected a ton of mass when it transformed into a red giant...
Thanks!
Thank you! There are a lot of small steps, both with the image capture and post processing. There's also an element of luck with weather and atmospheric conditions. It's part of the fun, for me. Some folks get overwhelmed or frustrated with all the nuances, which is understandable, but...
Thanks.....
Thank you! This image is true color, shot with a filter that only allows light in the wavelengths for hydrogen alpha and oxygen III to pass through. Since the camera is natively a color sensor, the colors are accurately represented. Narrowband imaging with monochrome sensors does...
Last night was a pleasant treat, seeing as how it's been months of not being able to get out under the stars to do any imaging. I went after a target I've never shot before. The Veil Nebula! A supernova remnant located 1470 light years from Earth, in the constellation Cygnus.

Thanks! That's a bummer the weather didn't cooperate... I feel like maybe 25% of the nights I'm free for taking photos, the weather says, "Nope!"
Thanks!
My image from last night's Lunar eclipse. Single exposure captured just before totality. Captured from south central Wisconsin.
